Save with the longest innings

洋基牛棚投手 Alfredo Aceves 在 7/5 洋基對藍鳥的比賽中，從第六局就上場救援。雖然提早上場對他來說不是什麼新鮮的事情，不過 Joe Girardi 讓他一口氣把比賽投到完，即便到了第九局洋基領先兩分時，還是沒有把 Mo 給推出來，讓 Aceves 投了整整四局辛苦地拿下一場救援成功。

於是我好奇地去查一下投四局拿救援成功的紀錄，發現還滿多次的，幾乎每一年都會出現個幾次，而今年在 Aceves 之前，道奇的 Ramon Troncoso 就已經在 4/25 上演過一次四局救援成功的戲碼

在好奇心驅使下，我順便去查了最長局數的救援成功記錄，結果發現了這位名字還滿屌的仁兄 Dick Hall。



他在 1961 年 6 月 18 號的一場比賽中，早早地在第二局就上場救援。

會那麼早登板大概只有三種原因，一是先發投手跟裁判槓上然後被驅逐出場了，二是先發投手突然受傷，三是先發投手在第一局就被徹底打爆。

根據我自己的看球經驗，第三種情況是最常見的。而實際上 Dick Hall 就是在先發投手 Jack Fisher 第一局就被打爆的情況下登場。

更正確一點來講，Jack Fisher 只投了 0.1 局，就丟了五分被砲轟下場了。

然後 Wes Stock 收拾了這個殘局，結束了第一局。而金鶯隊立刻在二局上半轟了八分逆轉戰局。Dick Hall 就是在八比五領先的情況下從二局下半一路投到九局下半比賽結束。

至於對手印地安人隊的先發投手只投了 1.2 局就退場，之後接手的 Bobby Locke 從第二局兩人出局後接手，也是一路投到九局結束。



可惜的是，自己的隊友沒有辦法從 Dick Hall 手中攻下任何分數，因此等於是做了白工。

然而，我很懷疑這種讓後援投手做如此長局數的救援工作，在現今的棒球比賽應該不太可能會發生。

Dick Hall 的紀錄也已經是將近五十年前的事情了。

因此我有查了一下近幾年的紀錄，果真大部分的長局數救援成功記錄都是在四局左右，除了這一位仁兄。。。。。



他叫做 Joaquin Benoit，從 2001~2008 都一直待在德州遊騎兵的牛棚裡面。

但他在 2002 年 9 月 3 日的比賽，從第三局登板救援後一直投到比賽結束，總共投了七局拿下一場救援成功，應該是近幾年來苦力做的最夠的救援成功記錄。

不過今年已經沒看到他的身影，小聯盟名單裡也沒有他的名字，好像是徹底在美國職棒消失了。

The Mo, the better.

在全台球迷引領盼望王建民拿下暌違三百多天的勝投下，紐約洋基的終結者 Mariano Rivera 拿下了生涯第五百次救援成功，卻是美國媒體更為關心的重點。

由於網路上已經有太多相關文章，我稍微瀏覽一下，決定來做一個 Rivera 在每個救援點的 milestone 回顧。

時間是1996-05-17 加州天使隊作客紐約的比賽，洋基先發投手是 Andy Pettitte，天使先發投手則是之前在洋基效力並且投過一場無安打比賽的獨臂投手 Jim Abbott。


原本洋基在第七局結束還以八比二大幅領先天使，但第八局天使又攻下三分，讓比數變成八比五，也製造出 Mo 可以記救援成功的條件。

於是 Mo 投了 1.1 局拿下生涯第一場救援成功，也正式開啟了他在洋基專職救援的生涯。

附帶一提的是，當時上場幫天使投最後一局的是當時的大聯盟史上救援王 Lee Smith。



當時他的生涯救援成功次數累積為 471 次，而他總計職業生涯一共救援成功 487 次，這個數據 Mo 直到 2008 年才打破。

時間是 1999-06-11，對手換成佛羅里達馬林魚隊。洋基先發投手是「公爵」Orlando Hernandez，馬林魚先發投手則為 Brain Meadows。

這場比賽在九局上半結束後，洋基以八比二遙遙領先，但沒想到九局下半上場的救援投手 Jason Grimsley 和 Todd Erdos 出狀況，讓馬林魚追了兩分，還搞的一二壘有人。

Joe Torre 看不下去只好把 Mo 推了出來，結果 Mo 只花了兩顆球就把 Kevin Millar 給解決了。


這個 Kevin Millar 就是後來說王建民的球跟保齡球一樣難打，但是自己卻又打得很好的那個 Kevin Millar。

這場比賽 Mo 很罕見地整整投了兩局。其中第九局最後面對的三名打者原本都很有可能加入名人堂，分別是：

這場比賽是2004-05-28 對上坦帕灣魔鬼魚，洋基先發投手是 Javier Vazquez，魔鬼魚先發是 Doug Waechter。

最後一個出局的便是號稱用眼神打球的 Julio Lugo。

這是2006-07-16 面對芝加哥白襪隊的比賽，洋基先發投手是 Jaret Wright，白襪先發投手是長的很像巨石強森的 Freddy Garcia。


這場比賽同樣也是 Mo 救援兩局，原因是他專屬的 setup man「放肆火」Kyle Farsworth 快被白襪打爆了，搞的 Mo 必須提早上班。

這場當然就不用說了，王建民的名字也將會出現在 Mo 的紀錄本上。

還有親眼見到三百勝的機會嗎？

Randy Johnson 於 2009/6/4 這一天挑戰生涯三百勝大關，結果一次就達陣了！本來想要在第一時間發篇文章，但是看了許多新聞媒體稿還有一些部落格的文章，覺得大家把我該要寫的東西都寫的差不多了，因此打算寫些別的。

不過在本文繼續之前，有興趣的人可以看一下「雨狗」這篇文章：

恭喜 Randy Johnson 三百勝達成

而我接下來要講的，其實也有點老調重提，在之前的文章也有提過，不過距離之前的文章也有段時間，記錄則是隨著時間會改變的，所以就容我在寫一次。

本文的主題就是，在我們有生之年，還有可能見到三百勝的投手嗎？

以現役的投手來看，目前累積兩百勝的投手有：

剛好兩左兩右，但明眼的人都知道，這四個老傢伙要達到三百勝的或然率趨近於零啊。

Jamie Moyer 差五十勝，但時值四十六歲的他，預料在執行完這兩年跟費城人的合約後應該就會認命的退休。但假設他不認命想繼續投，大概沒有隊伍敢簽。不過他應該要知足了，畢竟他身後那兩個字所代表的目標已經達到了。


Andy Pettite 還差 80 勝，以他平均一年了不起十五勝的話，得投到四十二歲左右。我個人是覺得如果「退休」這個念頭從來沒有出現在他腦海裡的話，說不定他就是下一個會達成三百勝的投手，不過他應該還是會在四十歲前退休。

而他若沒有拿到三百勝，對大聯盟當局可能也算是鬆口氣，畢竟他是自己承認過有注射過 HGH 的。


Pedro Martinez 還差八十六勝，撇開他的年齡不講，他得先擔心下一份合約什麼時候會來。


他真的相當可惜，因為若不是受傷，他現在應該至少會接近 250 勝，這樣對於挑戰三百勝自然會有較高的機率達成。現在來看是完完全全不可能了。但我對他能否進入名人堂還是持正面的態度，畢竟他在那段「人擋殺人，佛擋殺佛」的紅襪歲月裡，實在已經不能用「瘋狂」這兩個字來形容的。畢竟「上帝的右手」不是講假的。

至於 John Smoltz 就真的完全不用看了。他最近要從紅襪復出了，我仍舊會相當期待這位「季後賽大魔神」能夠給紅襪帶來什麼化學反應。


其次來看現役100~199勝之間的投手，總共有三十一位。（其實應該是三十二位才對，因為 Carlos Zambrano 剛拿下生涯第一百勝，不過 B-R 的資料庫還沒有更新。

這一串名單裡面，三十五歲以上的人基本上可以刷掉不看了，因為這些人要挑戰生涯三百勝的機率是微乎其微。

假設之後這些人一年平均可以拿個十五勝左右的話，Livan Hernandez 再投個十年剛好可以達到三百勝，時年四十四歲。

但是扣掉今年，他往年的紀錄大概平均一年只能拿到十勝。生涯超過十五勝的次數只有三次（2000, 2003, 2005）。我們實在無法期待往後十年他能夠有平均每年十五勝的表現。

而這樣看來，同為三十四歲的 Jarrod Washburn、Chris Carpenter、Matt Morris 和 Jeff Suppan 也可以不用考慮了，因為他們目前的累積勝投比 Livan Hernandez 要少，所以表示得花更久的時間。

不過 Kevin Millwood 看來是還有那麼一絲機會，不過他之前十二年的大聯盟生涯只有四次拿超過十五勝（1998, 1999, 2002, 2006），在加上身處打者天堂的阿靈頓球場，對他來講更為不利。他只有轉到德州的第一年比較威，之後情況越來越糟。不過他終究還是遊騎兵的扛霸子，只是挑戰生涯三百勝，他需要很大的運氣。


跟他目前同為 146 勝，但年齡比他還小一歲的 Tim Hudson，是我原本覺得最有可能取得生涯三百勝的下一位投手。因為短短十年就拿下 14.6 勝的 Tim Hudson，照這樣的速率繼續贏下去的話，大概再 11 年就可以完成了，屆時他 43 歲，還比 Randy Johnson 現在的年齡還小。


不過他從去年 7/23 投完之後就進 DL 躺到現在，所以三百勝達陣的機率可能得打個對折了。

和 Tim Hudson 同年但比他還少 45 勝的 Kelvin Escobar，就不用花時間再討論了。

30~32 歲之間的現役投手，從過去經驗來看，當屬 Roy Halladay、Roy Oswalt 和 Johan Santana 最為看好。

Roy Halladay 扣掉早年起步不是那麼順遂外，當他站穩在大聯盟強投的地位後，只要是健康的年份就一定可以投出至少十六勝的戰績。如果繼續維持下去，只要再十年，也就是他四十二歲時，就可以完成生涯三百勝。


希望是不要有任何「意外」啊。因為一旦他躺進 DL 一次，可能完成生涯三百勝就要往後挪一年，所以是一點閃失都不能有！

Roy Oswalt 看起來可能會比 Roy Holladay 更有保障些。原因一是他比 Roy Halladay 還年輕一歲，二是他從來沒有嚴重的傷病史（除了2003年躺進 DL 長達一個多月）。前八年就累積了 129 勝，等於平均一年可以拿十六勝。照這樣的速率換算下去差不多也要再十一年，也是在四十二歲左右可以達成。


Johan Santana 的情況可能又比 Roy Oswalt 要來的好。穩定的戰績加上健康的手臂，「安安穩穩」地投下去也差不多要到四十二歲左右。


不過只要他還待在大都會一天，就必須時時刻刻擔心自己的勝投被自家的牛棚給搞砸。這種情況在前兩年已經看太多了！

至於三十歲以下的現役投手，只剩下 122 勝的 CC Sabathia 和 110 勝的 Jon Garland。



不過由於他們還很年輕，很難預料到之後會發生的事情。在沒有傷病纏身的假設下，在根據兩人之前的年均勝來看，大概也得投到四十二歲左右。我個人是比較看好 Jon Garland，因為 CC 的體重以及他過去投球過量的紀錄，這都一直讓許多人認為他遲早會進 DL 躺一陣子。而 Jon Garland 基本上從來沒有太大的傷病顧慮，但他之前在 FA 市場上居然沒有其他人那般搶手，奇怪也哉。

喔喔，差點又忘記冉伯牛 Carlos Zambrano 了！不過在 28 歲就拿下一百勝後，他立刻發表了這項談話：

After 100th win, Big Z ponders future

大意是講：老子這份合約結束後就打算考慮要退休啦！

他目前的合約是簽到 2012 年，屆時他也才不過 32 歲而已。他的理由是：

"I want to stay home and see my daughters grow up and hang out with my family more," he said. "Do you know how many Mother's Days I spend with my mother? Do you know how many things I've lost in my life? "

實在太感人了！偉哉～冉伯牛！屆時我一定會懷念你的，畢竟敢把主審驅逐出場的人大概也只有你吧！


最後做一個小小的總結：現役球員大概差不多都得投到四十二歲左右才能有機會挑戰三百勝。至少以目前的進度來看，我們在 2019 年以前應該是看不到下一個三百勝的投手了。

上述這些投手，個人覺得做個達成三百勝的預測機率排行：Johan Santana > Roy Oswalt > Roy Halladay > Jon Garland > CC Sabathia > Tim Hudson > Kevin Millwood。

希望十年後能夠再回頭來看這項驗證有沒有正確。

我們應該很慶幸在這十年內陸續看到 Roger Clemens、Greg Maddux、Tom Glavine 和 Randy Johnson 這四位投手成功挑戰生涯三百勝。

至少至少，以一個球迷身份的我來講，是沒有太多遺憾了。

全壘打絕緣體

前言：很久沒有發文了，主要是近期俗事煩身，讓我比較沒有動力發文。此外，最近也在思考改變文章的風格，以往的寫法實在很耗時，再加上 Baseball Reference 網站改版後，許多表格已經無法像以前一樣可以輕鬆地複製過來，所以現在要進行一些調整。

今年皇家隊新竄起的魔神 Zack Greinke 除了在球季開打後先發了十一場才讓自己的防禦率突破了「一」。。。。

我想 Greg Maddux 拿到第一應該當之無愧。Ken Hill 總計十四年大聯盟生涯，也只有在 1992、1994 和 1996 威過（都拿下十六勝），其餘時間的成績皆乏善可陳。補一張他的球員卡：

這一支安打同時也是支全壘打，所以讓 Maddux 無法完封。當時進行到八局下半，Maddux 還呈現完全比賽狀態，沒有被安打，沒有保送（後來在第九局保送 Craig Biggio），也沒有丟分。結果第一位上來的 Jeff Bagwell 就賞他一發全壘打破了 Maddux 的完全比賽！

附帶一提的是，這場比賽太空人隊先發投手 Darryl Kile，就是 2002 年紅雀隊那個球季中在旅館內猝死的 Darryl Kile。
